Yesterday in my post about my trip to Haiti (which is where I am now!) I briefly mentioned an upcoming trip to Cuba. I want to take this time in a separate post to discuss that further.
In September, a team from Christ Fellowship of Tampa (including myself) will be travelling to Cuba for the purpose of helping a local Baptist Church finish their construction project on a new sanctuary. I had the privilege of getting to visit this little town last year in October and I am very excited to go back. Not only do I get to be the hands and feet of Jesus, doing the work He’s called me to do, I also get to visit some friends I made on the last trip. If you’ve never been on a mission trip to another country I’m not sure if I can properly describe the experience in words. I do want to say this. I fell in love with those people on the last visit and I can’t wait to see them again. The Cubans we lived with for a week are my true friends and my love for them hasn’t waned in these days since I last say them. Our reunion will be…well, it will be awesome.
As you know, missions cost money. It’s an unfortunate fact of life. No one wants to ask for money, but it’s necessary if we’re going to travel, bring in supplies, eat, and travel home. This blog post isn’t about me asking you to donate, though I do want to take a second to encourage you to do just that. If you feel inclined to do so, please email me and I’ll share some ways you can support missions work.
Here’s what this post is really about. I’ve made it my goal to fund my trip back to Cuba through royalties earned on my latest devotional book, Devotions for Disciples: Our Father. Every cent made from sales of this book will go toward this trip to Cuba. After I return, all future sales of the book will still fund missions to Cuba, whether I am a part of them or not. Please consider purchasing this book for friends, family, coworkers or anyone who might benefit from a 30-day daily devotional guide that brings them closer to God. You can know that every copy you buy helps more people in Cuba come to know Jesus. I’m including some links below for places you can purchase the book. Thank you for your time and consideration. Even if you don’t buy the book, please keep us in your prayers as we travel to bring the Good News to the islands.
For Disciples book store (Just as an FYI, I get the most royalties if you purchase from this source)
If you’re part of my Christ Fellowship of Tampa church family, I have a few copies back at the Next Steps table for purchase as well.
